EU TO FUND ZIMBABWE'S FIGHT AGAINST FOOT, MOUTH DISEASES

The European Union (EU) has set aside 11 million U.S. dollars to
fence off Zimbabwe's Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Free Zone, the
daily Herald reported Tuesday.
However, it will only release the money after a feasibility study
and risk assessment have been carried out.
A barrier to conform to international standards must demarcate
the
Foot and Mouth Disease Free Zone which demands that Zimbabwe to
fence
off the remaining 160 km to the north of the country to complete the
demarcation.
The central fencing covering about 750 km has been completed.
