`You don't do that kind of dancing, do you?!" exclaims the man in the dance shop. "You don't look like you've got enough belly to dance with. I saw one in Morocco once and she was big!" The man shapes an imaginary woman of elephantine proportions with his hands. Mention "belly dancing" to most people and you immediately conjure up an image of a provocatively dressed and be-sequinned temptress of ample proportions undulating across sandy dunes to the beat of the tabla drum.
