A MINIATURE portrait of a king's illegitimate son and a painting owned by Elton John are among sought-after treasures which will be taken the length of the country for a special display in Edinburgh.

The collection of more than 100 heirlooms is being sold at one of the auctions of the year in London.

The Edinburgh exhibition, at Bonhams' Melville Street showrooms will give super-rich Scottish collectors the chance to view the goods before they go under the hammer. One attraction, but perhaps of more historic than cash value, is a portrait of a duke thought to be an illegitimate son of King ...
