HERACLES could be on his way to Cheltenham's Royal & SunAlliance Hurdle after a decisive success at Kempton yesterday on his first outing for trainer Brendan Powell.

Powell, a Grand National-winning jockey, was saddling his third jumps winner since taking out his licence last summer and Heracles, like his successful stablemates, was making his debut for the yard.

Heracles, previously trained by Alan Berry, took command under Chris Maude turning for home and scored by two-and-a-half lengths from Rouble in the Dream Experience 'Drive For A Day' Novices' Hurdle.
