produce aisles.
One of the first herbs to announce the arrival of the spring
season at farmers market is anthriscus cerefolium, or chervil (CHER-
vuhl), a lacy-leafed member of the carrot family. It takes its name
from the Latin chaerophyllum, which means "herb of joy" and is
featured in Easter celebrations in some parts of Europe. This
aromatic native of the Caspian Sea region is widely cultivated in
Europe and particularly popular in France, where it's used in fines
