Campsite capers

NEVER again will I be so foolish as to stay at a campsite without a torch.

Don't get me wrong - we had a wonderful 12 days in Brittany, with a better than average weather score for the end of May and early days of June.

But the holiday will go down in family history as "the time when dad gashed his leg".

We were staying on the Rhuys peninsula near the village of St Gildas, a saint who was supposed to be wise.

This wisdom was not extended to me, however, as I didn't bother to ask why the campsite was called Le Menhir - only later learning to my cost that it means 'the standing stones'.
