Asked recently when he plans to retire, Jacques Loussier replied, "I need to play more because I'm improving." Listening to the jazz master perform in this one South Island appearance, one wonders where any improvement could possibly be made. In fact, it is difficult to recall a musical event of this calibre, certainly in the realm of jazz.
