Hero returns from five-month spell at Rotorua

ROTORUA -- Crack Cambridge galloper Hero resumes racing after a long spell when he contests the Group Three $40,000 Lion Brown Plate at Rotorua's Arawa Park tomorrow.

But although it might be his first run in five months, he is likely to be sent out as a short-priced favourite in the 11-horse field due to an impressive record at weight-for-age and group level.

The seven-year-old gelding has not raced since a disappointing two-start foray to Brisbane in May, which reaped no reward.
