I never thought I'd see the day when New Zealanders would take to eating raw fish. Today, however, there are probably more sushi parlours in Christchurch than fish-and- chip shops.

There is also a wide variety of other Japanese foods gradually working their way into general acceptance.

My personal favourite is the tepanyaki style of cooking meat on a hot plate, with the chef juggling his implements with the gusto of Tom Cruise in the movie Cocktail. ...
