MARY LOVELL-SMITH wasn't the only one put out when Gethsemane
Gardens on the top of Clifton Hill closed down its nursery.
For a gardener it was a rare treat to wander through beautiful
gardens, knowing that at the end, just by buying a plant, one would
be able to placate a small part of the longing and envy (and peace
and pleasure) with which those divine acres of borders filled them.
But God had other plans.
