Menes' hands make netball work
|
The World Netball Championships are a family affair for the
Menes, with dad, mum, and brother working behind the scenes while
Bernice plays her part on the court.
The Silver Fern defender's dad, Mene Mene, is selling souvenir
supporters' shirts, mum Sally is looking after the ball people, and
brother Chris is on duty with the police.
Mr Mene took annual leave from his job at Air New Zealand to work
at the championships, Mrs Mene is on a school holiday break from
Villa Maria College, and Chris persuaded his supervisor at the
Sydenham police station to roster him at the WestpacTrust Centre.
