Speculation surrounds sloop owner

Speculation is rife in Picton about the owner of the sloop at the centre of police investigations into the disappearance of Olivia Hope, 17, and Ben Smart, 21.

The boat's owner, Scott Watson, is believed to have gone into hiding shortly after police began questioning him and before his boat was seized on Monday for forensic testing.

His mother, who works at a Picton bar and restaurant, has taken some days off and could not be contacted. Their Hampden Street home was unoccupied when a Press reporter called. Mr Watson's sloop was seized by the police after a report of him repainting it in Erie ...
