Revamped Charade puts on brave new face
|
Having adopted a low profile in the last year or so, Daihatsu has
recently restyled and upgraded its Charade range. DAVE MOORE drives
the 1.5-litre five-door and finds a well-priced and surprisingly
brisk performer.
The Daihatsu Charade lost a lot of its personality when it was re-
skinned two years ago, with an inoffensive but decidedly bland
bodystyle. It gained a lot of space compared with its predecessor,
and now that the five-door hatch has gained a 1.5-litre engine to go
with its 1.3 litre and 1 litre units, the Charade has even become
something of a performance leader.
