THE PITCH INVADER whose tackle put the referee Dave McHugh out of
the Tri-nations match between South Africa and New Zealand in Durban
on Saturday has been released on bail pending his trial.
Pieter van Zyl, of Potchefstroom, appeared in Durban magistrate's
court yesterday on charges of assault with intent to do grievous
bodily harm. He was not asked to plead. He was released on bail of
3,000 Rand (pounds 192) and ordered to appear on 9 September.
