crippling rise in fuel bills after one of the UK's largest energy
firms announced plans to push up its prices.
Edf Energy has hit its customers with a 17 per cent increase for
electricity and 22 per cent for gas - more than six times the
inflation rate - blaming wholesale energy costs.
The French-owned company said the average "dual-bill" customer,
buying both gas and electricity, would see bills rise by more than
