Talented Ansonia cop retires after 27 years

ANSONIA -- In his 27 years on the force, Lt. Floyd Morey, 51, has held nearly every rank in the police department, but in his heart he'll always be a detective sergeant. Morey retired last week after what he calls a "pretty good ride." In his years as an Ansonia cop, he's managed local security for the first President Bush, gone undercover as an investigator for high profile homicides in nearby towns, served as an undercover narcotics agent, and worked on 18 homicides.

"Detective sergeant was the most intriguing and enjoyable. It's where my heart was and always will be," he said.
