Obituary: Pierre Vago International architects' union founder

PIERRE VAGO was the founding father of the International Union of
Architects and founder Editor-in- Chief of the architectural journal
L'Architecture d'Aujourd-hui.
He was born in Budapest in 1910, but soon moved with his family to
Rome. His architect father, Joseph Vago, won the competition for the
League of Nations in Geneva, after Le Corbusier had been
disqualified. His mother was the singer Ghita Lenart. Vago learned
Italian and German, and in 1928, when he moved to Paris, French. This
prepared him for the international role he was to play in
