World weightlifting champion Shang lodges appeal to IWF on positive dope test

BEIJING, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese weightlifter Shang Shichun, who had failed a drug test at last year's world championships in Vancouver, said on Saturday she was "innocent" and has already appealed to the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).

The Budapest-based IWF said nine men and two women, including Shang, tested positive at the event last November, local MTI news agency reported on Friday.

The IWF website also showed 11 disqualifications in its amended results, including Shang, who broke three ...
