Withdrawal of Rosyth-Zeebrugge ferry service will cost Fife GBP 20m a year

THE loss of the Rosyth-Zeebrugge ferry is expected to cost the
Fife economy GBP 20m a year, according to research by property
consultants DTZ.
The service is Scotland's only direct ferry link with continental
Europe and the knock-on effects on the local economy have been
revealed for the first time.
The findings from DTZ emerge as speculation continues about a
possible replacement service. Caledonian MacBrayne and P&O have been
mentioned as potential substitutes. Another rumoured contender, rail
and bus operator Stagecoach, which wants to operate a Forth
