AHMAD FUAD BAHARUDIN and Toshiyuki Hamaguchi shared the limelight in Round 1 of the SuperSports 600cc category in the FIM Asian Grand Prix at Sentul International Circuit, Jakarta yesterday.

Ahmad Fuad did Malaysia proud by winning Race 1 while Japanese Hamaguchi won Race 2.

In Race 1, Fuad, riding for Petronas Sprinta Yamaha Malaysia, took advantage of his pole position to lead from start to finish to win the 16-lap race in 25:03.819 seconds.

Five-time champion, Hamaguchi of Babie's Sport Racing, was second 2.246s behind.
