Sailor arrives for Transat adventure ; Renowned round-the-world yachtswoman Dee Caffari has become one of the first Transat sailors to arrive in Plymouth ahead of the race on May 11.

Renowned round-the-world yachtswoman Dee Caffari has become one of the first Transat sailors to arrive in Plymouth ahead of the race on May 11.

The 35-year-old record-breaking sailor berthed her brightly- coloured 60ft boat Aviva at Plymouth Yacht Haven as the countdown to the Artemis Transat race began.

On Saturday a spectacular race village will open to the public on the Barbican.

Aviva, along with 24 of the world's most lavish racing yachts, will then be based inside Sutton Harbour to allow the public to get up close and personal with the crews and their boats.
