Q. This small table belonged to my grandparents, who lived in the Midwest. I am very curious about its age and value.

A. The term "Renaissance" refers to the rebirth of art, literature and learning that began in Italy in the 14th century. It paid homage to classical models, particularly those of Rome and Greece, and it continues to influence the decorative arts.
