Possible $4 a gallon gas helps cycling to work look better

Designating this week as "Bike to Work eek" might increase
awareness of the value of commuting on two wheels, but it won't
increase the number of people who leave their cars at home.
Maintaining the upward trend in gasoline prices certainly will
get more people looking in that direction.
However, even as prices approach the $4 a gallon mark, high
prices alone won't get people to embrace bicycle commuting. There
are many obstacles - but those obstacles can be overcome.
