E Yorks: Residents at Spurn Point have been forced to keep their windows shut and cover up in the hot weather after an influx of caterpillars.

The brown-tailed moth caterpillars - also known as Euproctis chrysorrhoea - have small barbs all over their bodies that break off very easily and irritate the skin, in some cases severely.
