The Journal Record Index rose sharply, adding 60.51 points, or
4.62 percent, when oil climbed above $126 a barrel for the first
time as our week ended. The index ended at 1,369.01, a new record,
and advancing issues high-tailed it past declining issues at a 32-
to-14 count.
Continental Resources roared ahead last week after the company
reported a 60-percent increase in first-quarter income and bested
analysts' estimates. CLR said it benefited from increased production
