Thomas Naylor, the 32-year-old accused of the murder of Shawn Coombs, yesterday claimed not to have held the alleged murder weapon.

Mr Coombs (35) died on the afternoon of September 16, 2007.

He argued with Naylor at his Lynmouth Drive, Scunthorpe home and was then found dying from a knife wound to the heart. Naylor, of Bushfield House, Scunthorpe, denies murder.

Naylor yesterday told jurors at Hull Crown Court he had known Mr Coombs for about 10 years. And, at the time of the incident, he was staying at his Lynmouth Drive address.
