Discount store opens doors in new location

A DISCOUNT retailer welcomed its first customers when it opened its new store in a prominent high street location.

Poundland opened its doors at 9am on Saturday in the former Waterstones store, in High Row, Darlington.

It came two days after its previous store, in the Queen Street Shopping Centre, closed. The company said the move would offer customers a better shopping experience.
