The City Council has voted down the public art ordinance submitted by the Cultural Arts Commission that would require developers to contribute 1 percent of the value of any project worth more than $300,000 for public art.

City staff are rewriting the ordinance, most likely centering it around a voluntary endowment to fund public art rather than requiring developers to pay for it.
