TROY -- Combining chicken wire, papier-mache and a bunch of
fifthgrade girls could be a messy venture, but Mike Nygren is
confident the result will be the world's largest strawberry.
As the 32nd Troy Strawberry Festival nears, more than 100 fifth-
grade girls from Troy public, Catholic and Christian schools in the
Young Women of Distinction program will be working to build the
planned 18-foot tall, 13-foot-wide berry.
