Young viola player tunes up for national competition

Talented young Nayland College student Matthew Prater will compete next week against New Zealand's top secondary school talent in the MusicWorks Performers Competition.

The classical music soloists' competition will be held at Auckland's Raye Freedman Arts Centre on Monday.

Matthew, 17, will perform a piece from Telemann's Viola Concerto, accompanied by the St Matthews Chamber Orchestra.
