Historic music halls are cultural gems

The Benedum Center and Heinz Hall aren't the only places to see live theater or top musical acts perform locally.

The music halls at the libraries in Homestead, Braddock and Carnegie still bring performances to their communities even though all three venues need work to modernize them.

The Carnegie Library of Homestead in Munhall draws artists such as Joe Jackson and Colbie Caillat. Kate Grannemann, executive director of the library, said the facility has seen a resurgence in recent years when popular acts began appearing at the hall.
