Burlesque is back -- in a small town near you

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Jim Romano, a very tall man in a zebra striped suit jacket, is remarkably calm despite the frenzy of half-dressed dancers rushing around him.

Romano is the impresario behind the Bing Bamboo Room, a monthly burlesque show in downtown Albany. The shows began in September 2004 with a group of amateurs, and now include several performers with professional backgrounds in theater and dance. Acts include drag queens, a magician, a mock game show and some good old-fashioned stripping.
