Ugandan gov't refutes Oxfam report on northern war

KAMPALA, April 4 (Xinhua) -- The Ugandan government has rejected a report by Oxford Committee for Famine Relief (Oxfam) and 50 other NGOs that concluded the death rate in the north is three times higher than in Iraq, which contradicted with the UN statistics.

A statement signed by State Minister for Northern Uganda Rehabilitation Grace Akello, who is also a member of parliament, said the figures in those reports were wrongly compared with those of Iraq.
