Jose L. Trujillo 1914-2007

Jose Lauro Trujillo, 92, of Cheyenne died June 24 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 12, 1914, in Los Ojos, N.M., and had lived here since 1943.

Jose's father died when he was very young. Since he was the eldest child, he was left to help his mother raise and support his younger siblings. To accomplish this he worked as a sheep herder and in the fields in Ault, Colo., along with his brothers and sister.

He was a stock room clerk for Union Pacific Railroad for 32 years until his retirement in 1974.
