It's not easy to set a mark as part of the Mira Costa girls volleyball program. So when this year's team had a chance to add to the school's record book, it didn't let the opportunity pass by.

Mira Costa captured its 14th CIF Southern Section championship with a 25-21, 22-25, 25-12, 25-13 victory over rival Redondo in the Division II-AA final on Saturday afternoon at Cypress College.

It was the first time in school history that the Mustangs have won three CIF titles in a row. And the team and fans celebrated after the match, dancing on the floor and in the stands while chanting, "three- ...
