Part of Hawthorne's venerable but vacant and crumbling Cockatoo Inn would be demolished and part preserved under plans that a pair of local developers have filed at City Hall.

Inglewood-based developers Mohammad Pournamdari and David Golban initially wanted to save the entire 220-room, two-building complex southeast of Hawthorne Boulevard and Imperial Highway, records show, but a study concluded that would be financially unfeasible.
