Fortune Brands sues Marsh over insurance
|
Fortune Brands, the maker of Moen faucets and Jim Beam whiskey,
said in a lawsuit that Marsh & McLennnan Cos. inflated insurance
prices by rigging a competitive bidding process with fraudulent
quotes.
The lawsuit, filed last week in federal court in Chicago, contends
Marsh broke antitrust law by supervising "a scheme among competing
excess casualty insurers to engage in bid rigging." Fortune said it
overpaid by $1.3 million on insurance policies in 2003 and 2004 after
being victimized ...
