Torrance's offense just not there

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. -- On Sunday, there would be no hero for
Torrance in the Babe Ruth World Series.
A day after Paul Plaza's late-inning heroics got Torrance an
opening-day win in the Series, Torrance left 10 runners on base and
made two errors in losing to Waite Park, Minn., 4-2.
"Our bats are still at the airport," said Robert Ybarra Sr.,
Torrance's manager, whose team has scored a combined four runs in two
games. "They're quiet right now. We've got to step it up."
That isn't to say that Torrance didn't have its chances. Waite
Park pitcher Jack Arnold gave up eight hits and walked four, but ...
