Color, materials weave patterns through art show

Slater Barron's lint art might just be the highlight of "Fiber/
Fabric," one of two new exhibitions that have opened at the Angels
Gate Cultural Center.
Barron, otherwise known as the "Lint Lady," uses crimson, taupe
and other colors to make faux food plates and portraits of her mother
out of everyday clothing lint. The dull pieces of sushi, green olives
or corn form weird plates of food that never threaten to appeal to a
human appetite.
Yet, Barron's pieces, along with the others in the show,
demonstrate the artists' ability to use ordinary household materials
