Memories tether generations of family to the Goodyear blimp

The Goodyear blimp is a familiar sight in the South Bay. When the
blimp is flying or grounded at its base in Carson, our friends and
family will always say, "There's Deda's blimp!" (Deda is Serbian for
grandpa.)
My family is from Akron, Ohio, and several of them _ my
grandfather, father and uncles _ worked at the tire plant. My father,
