Restaurateur Trani made everyone feel at home
For decades, Lou Trani helped feed everybody from dockworkers to
sports stars in the San Pedro restaurant he ran with his family,
Trani's Majestic Cafe.
Luigi "Lou" Trani, who helped his father and brothers run the
place until it closed in 1989, died Thursday of cancer. He was 80.
Born Sept. 20, 1922, in Wilmington, the lifelong Harbor Area
resident began working at his dad's restaurant when he was a kid,
helping to clean up or wash dishes.
