Ter Borch's works more than meets the eye

For the Detroit Institute of Arts' latest exhibit opening Sunday,
"Gerard ter Borch Master Works," the Motor City's finest museum seems
to be borrowing a page from Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code.
"I'd like to think that people are looking at master works because
they are master works," says Sue Troia, program manager/docent
development manager at the DIA. "Still, if people can look at art and
enjoy it for what it is, I suppose we can thank Brown for that in a
way."
While Brown's book focuses on the works of an Italian master,
there are secrets to be mined from the Dutch painter Ter Borch, too. ...
