Feat of Clay could give St. Bernard a leg up in final

Erin Burts learned the hard way what St. Bernard girls basketball teammate Shannon Clay will do to get her way.

When Coach Felicia Simon told her team it had new uniforms, she also decided that the seniors would choose their numbers first. Burts picked No. 45.

"I'm No. 00 this year because of Shannon Clay," Burts said with a chuckle. "We got new jerseys, I picked No. 45. Well, she started crying, `No, that's supposed to be mine! It's my lucky number.' She begged me for itand, well, I gave it to her."
