Boat-building business sails to new horizons

What started off as a teenage hobby has turned into an award- winning business for Darren Newton.

He was bitten by the sailing bug while still at school and built his first boat at the age of 14 after encouragement from his woodwork teacher.

Darren grew up in Modbury and went to school in Dartington. When he left school aged 17, he went to college in Falmouth to do a two- year boat-building course.
