Two anthems share the spotlight at Hales
|
As one of only a handful of all-black Catholic high schools in the
United States, Hales Franciscan holds a unique role in the community
and the Catholic League.
To express their school pride and cultural identity, the Spartans
sing 'Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing" before home basketball games.
'That song was one of the first things I learned as a child," said
Hales senior Nate Minnoy, who is a Purdue recruit and was the Sun-
Times Class A Player of the Year last season. We're an all-black
