A 'Disciple' worth waiting for
In the 10 years since "Illmatic," Nasir Jones has spent the bulk
of his time in two ways: 1) embroiled in that beef with Jay-Z, and 2)
trying vainly to live up to "Illmatic." With "Street's Disciple," the
street griot has done it, and the world is once again his (though,
er, probably not as much as that Nas-as-Christ cover art would
suggest).
