NORTHFIELD - George M. "Mit" Davidson, 87, beloved husband of Alberta (Rayno) Davidson, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Merrimack County Nursing Home after a brief illness.

He was born in Tilton, the son of Harry and Mary (Kelly) Davidson. Mit served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He served as fire chief of the Tilton-Northfield Fire Department, with a total of 32 years of service in the department. He was a member of the Whiteman-Davidson American Legion Post 49, the VFW and the Elks Club. He also served as fire warden for several years.
