The Judge ruled for DeLorean's Pontiac in the late 1960s

The flamboyant Pontiac GTO Judge is arguably the most famous version of the classic Pontiac GTO, which kicked off the muscle car market in 1964.

The Judge got its name from a character on the popular TV show "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In."

Pontiac's young, free-swinging boss, John DeLorean, enjoyed the show and got the idea of calling a special 1969-71 GTO model the "Judge." It fit Pontiac advertisements that portrayed the GTO as the final arbiter of muscle car performance.
