MINERAL POINT, Wis. - Too many turnovers, too many missed shots.

Too much Barneveld and its full-court press, too big of a deficit to overcome.

Post-game excuses were being prepared for Potosi. The Chieftains didn't want to hear them.

Facing a 13-point deficit in the second half, a lifeless Potosi squad suddenly resurrected its season and advanced with a 44-37 triumph over Barneveld in a WIAA Division 4 sectional semifinal Thursday night at Mineral Point High School.

Potosi (22-2) meets Eleva-Sturm in Saturday's sectional final at La Crosse for a chance to go to the state tournament. ...
