AMONG the first singing competitions to be produced locally. Artistes it unearthed include Shagul Hamid, Suhaily Shamsuddin, Zalifah Ibrahim, M. Sani, Frankie Cheah, Sugiman Jahuri and Sept 5. In 1975, it changed its name to Bintang RTM which would later give us the late Tan Sri Sudirman.
